Pinot Gris Midelberg

Notre Domaine a toujours produit des vins secs et élégants et c'est dans cet esprit que nous vinifions notre Pinot Gris Midelberg : riche et opulent, il reste sec et digeste. 

La gamme MIDELBERG, du nom du village Mittelbergheim au Moyen-Age, est née en 2016 et se décline dans les septs cépages d'Alsace.

VINOUS : 89 points

"The 2021 Pinot Gris Midelberg opens with peppery, ripe pear notions which become rounded on the palate. This tastes dry but comes with 5 g/L of residual sweetness, which suit it rather well in this more slender vintage. The pear notes have a lovely phenolic edge, reminiscent of an apple pip, which lends a beautiful texture. The finish is subtle and harmonious."

"Quite a revolutionary dry pinot gris for Alsace that comes off as bone-dry, with restrained tannins that electrify the balance on the texturally complex, medium-to full-bodied palate (the copper shimmer says that this must have done some skin-contact). Lively caramelized-apple character, rather than the heavy honey aroma that's the norm for this category. Modest acidity, but still zesty at the finish."

"Very ripe notions of juicy pear and wet earth combine on the nose. The dry palate is linear with citrus freshness and rich with pear fruit. This has concentration, body and length, always shimmering with ripe pear. The finish is dry and long."
