The area known as “Zotzenberg” is situated in the commune of Mittelbergheim.  Facing south east, it is composed of marls and Jurassic limestone as well as conglomerates of Oligocene limestone and marls, formations that retain water and are drought resistant.

“Zotzenberg” is unique in Alsace and in the world as, since the 2005 vintage, the Sylvaner from this particular terroir has obtained the appellation Grand Cru (See the Archives section).
